You and I are not two. In the identity of form, in the origin and in the end, we are one
I am responsible for your evil and your good , for your truth and your falsehood. I can do nothing to change you now, but I can improve you by improving myself.
My father just turned me on to this term, "permaculture" is like a return to the Garden of Eden in some sense. It represents an old and earth friendly way to harvest from the earth, and a polar opposite to the sterile way of farming we know now in the 20th century. This is an amazing insight for anyone concerned with the rampant waste and disregard for nature that we see in contemporary agriculture. A method of farming with not only doesn't harm the earth with natural chemicals, but also revitalizes it based on natural decomposition and life. The system is cycle based, utilizing insects and animals, decomposition and symbiotic plant relationships to create the appropriate biosphere for plant life to become abundant, even on a small scale.
Mythology and epic historiography have never left the mainstream culture, in some sense perhaps the legends and folklore that speckle human history define us more than consciously prevalent ideas like technology, psychology and commerce. There exists some kind of inherent attraction for deep and mysterious history, maybe better stated as a longing for a sense of tradition or lore. Today in the media, anything to gain viewership is a go, so it's no surprise that legends and myths find their way into modern television programming. What is surprising, more for the sake of the close proximity of our lives and our myths, is the extent of programming engaged in these topics. Last Sunday (2/21) on National Geographic Televsion exemplifies this http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/tv-schedule
Surprisingly to some, more and more scientific explorations and discoveries continously open the window to our human history further into the past. Daily scientific discoveries are slowly shedding light on the countless mysteries surrounding the evolution of mankind from primitive to complex. There are many anomalous factoids which disrupt what would be considered accepted "truth" by many people about how we came to be where we are today.
Things like OOPARTS, out of place objects, which cannot be categorized by the mainstream timeline are one good example. (Here are a few more well known ooparts) Similarly exploration of archeology continues to reveal an intelligent world civilization, stretching farther and farther into our past. As we learn more, we realize people had much more knowledge and understanding of our planet than we typically give credit for. And that, perhaps, what we construe as a linear evolution from primitive to complex, in regards to humans, is actually cyclical. A statement which would make any university professor cringe.
It could very well be discoverd, long after this has been written, read and forgotton, that the linear past we currently percieve, is actually only the tip of the iceburg; and that we might see past through the darkness of a primitive recent past, into a light of an ancient knowledge.
Harvard University selected XVIVO to develop an animation that would take their cellular biology students on a journey through the microscopic world of a cell, illustrating mechanisms that allow a white blood cell to sense its surroundings and respond to an external stimulus. This award winning piece was the first topic in a series of animations XVIVO is creating for Harvards educational website BioVisions at Harvard.
Of all the mysterious remnants of our murky human past, one of the most intangible is the cycle of language. Like so many great people have declared, and so sadly few embraced; a man or a woman in this life is limited in reality by the very extent of their own language. And we are the extent of what we take and learn and know; the words that we recollect are those same that define us.
Similarly, stacking words into phrases become scripts for our conversations, relationships, intuitions and beliefs. And further our business, our way of means to the end result of procreation and progeny, is but an endless commencement of revolutions of words; either malignant or benign, each in its own right.
Now is a very exciting time to be alive. There are so many doors opening with the help of technology, most notably in regards to travel and the internet. And in both of these a similar accessibility that is being produced; instant widespread transfer of information. It seems as though the information borders are on the fringe of null.
