Wednesday evening at the Griffith observatory, Los Angeles California. Accompanied by many more space spectators than I had anticipated, and a couple post dinner companions, I attempted to view the heavens above LA.
Unfortunately the cards were stacked against me, what I did see was a photogenic vantage of the Los Angeles valley. And, though I missed the large telescope by a couple minutes, I did get a short glimpse of Saturn from the portable telescopes on the lawn.
Shaky as it was, there it was. Rings and all. I stood back from the telescope to locate the speck in the sky. Barely visible above the smog layer and light pollution was the distant planet, Saturn, looming in the North Western sky.
Now is a very exciting time to be alive. There are so many doors opening with the help of technology, most notably in regards to travel and the internet. And in both of these a similar accessibility that is being produced; instant widespread transfer of information. It seems as though the information borders are on the fringe of null.
